Education
Francine GROETAERS graduated with a licence in Law at the University of Leuven (KUL) in 1986.
She obtained also a Special Licence in Law and Economy of Insurances at the University of Brussels (ULB) in 1987.
She followed lessons French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese (basic knowledge) at the CLT Language Centre in Leuven.
Carreer
After her studies at the University of Leuven and Brussels Francine Groetaers began her career as a lawyer in September 1987, first in the office of the late Mr Adolphe HOSCHET, followed by his son, the late Mr Thierry HOSCHET.
After her inclusion on the lawyers list of Leuven in 1990, she became permanent collaborator at the office HOSCHET.
In 2024 she joined the office DEVLIES & partners.
She has acquired extensive professional competence in insurance and liability law, penal law, construction law, tenancy law, traffic law but most of all in loss estimate with negotiations in order to reach an amicable settlement.
Within the years she specialised in cases of loss estimate in general but more specific in corporal damage as a result of serious injuries.
She has focused on all aspects of insurance and liability law.
In this context she frequently organises meetings or negotiations in order to reach a settlement and takes the initiative to finalise them.
To avoid the length of the procedure she tries to convince parties to reach an acceptable settlement, at with she mostly succeeds.
She has a great ability to listen and to give a clear analysis of the problem at with the client comes first.
She assists the client in all aspects of the process and also during expertise (medical and technical).
Francine GROETAERS has a command of Dutch, French and Englisch and has knowledge of Spanish and Italian.
